hangs says:

By the way, my hard drives are (according to bios) Maxtor 6E040L0 (this one worked before
with FC1) and Maxtor 6Y080M0 (this is my new SATA disc, a "MAXTOR Diamond Max Plus-9
80Gb 7200rpm S-ATA 8Mb" according to the selling company).

Press "e" at the grub menu to edit the grub command, and remove "rhgb
quiet" and add "nofb" in their place. Then try booting and see how far
you get.
