Why do the following people, time after time, insist on banning me for asking fedora questions on #fedora?
VileGent Khaytsus (or however you speel his name) [R]
They are absolute pricks. If the Fedora community wants to improve their position with the public, I suggest that they start monitoring #fedora for the utterly vehement, venomous, vicious attitudes these regulars have there and do a little pruning of operator priviledges.
I have been a Fedora user for 4 years (since FC3). I have (for better or worse) provided documentation on some things that have helped me:

Well there is one connection: Fedora! If one part of the community is hurting Fedora, the other parts should be concerned.

Well there is one connection: Fedora! If one part of the community is hurting Fedora, the other parts should be concerned.
I have the feeling that people use one or the other. I never use the IRC channel. So, I wouldn't even being to know where the correct place to address your issue.
I just logged in to that channel and see the following disclaimer....

FWIW, you may find (infrequently) people on this list that don't get along. They normally take their food fights offline. :-)

One important thing that is missing in your post is an example of what had happened in the channel prior to one of those three banning you.
To claim that you got banned "for asking fedora questions" sounds unrealistic. It's a biased view, I think. Perhaps what you considered appropriate for that channel was deemed inappropriate because of the way you presented it to the people?
Surely every ban has a history such as one or more earlier kicks and a final warning. Have you been told what you did wrong?
Beyond that I can't say much about #fedora. I'm not a fan of overuse of pseudonyms/nicknames in a community where I would prefer to know people by their real name. Tried to query all three ircnames, but none of them was found.

Well, I have doubts. Either the "banned for asking fedora questions" is phrased very poorly, or what you considered "fedora questions" was a controversial matter. Something may be related to Fedora but could still be considered inappropriate or undesired by the community that fills #fedora with activity. [My general experience with IRC is good enough to tell some tales to back up my point of view.]

Then give some details, please. Imagine you would file an abuse complaint. You would need to give some details. If somebody really did you wrong, there are ways to impose sanctions on that person. I'm certain we don't want anyone on #fedora to kick/ban people just for fun.

Your quoting leaves something to be desired. By cutting the paragraph before the first one you quoted, you change a request for more information to look like it is a judgment call. Though I guess your not including this information does lead to a judgment of you. If this is an indication of how you post on the IRC channel, I can see why you run into problems.

IRC is a wonderful resource to speak to others in real time. Most choose what they want, some do both. It is hard to replicate the real time ability of IRC, where you can clarify and explain instantly rather than waiting on a reply, even if it's a quick reply.
[R] is a long time user of Freenode. I had no idea he was associated with the #fedora channel at all, I don't recall seeing him in there but I don't really follow people around. VileGent and Khaytsus have both been on the network for a long while as well. Of note is their usermask, which includes "@fedora", thus they represent Fedora any time a user does a whois on them or they join a channel.
#fedora is an official Fedora channel. Advice is not official. There is probably a more appropriate place or person to contact. The channel was founded by Warren who appears to be active on the network, this may be a better place to start.

The success of a distro, as with any organization, is affected to a large extent by the way the "in crowd" treats the "out crowd".
I ran Slackware for many years. But I gave it up completely and moved to Debian when I started hanging out in the Slackware newsgroup. It didn't take long for me to notice that the old-time Slackware guys were "absolute pricks" to all the newbies. Their disdain for anyone who failed to devote adequate time to Reading The Fine Manual was not at all subtle.
I later switched from Debian to Fedora largely because of a general atmosphere of self-righteousness that pervades the Debian community.

The banned topic list does seem to be whatever those people don't want to talk about, beyond that I'd say that there are stupendously dumb questions in that group, and those folks do try to help. If you persist in talking about topics they want to avoid they will kick you. Never seen anyone banned, but how would I know?
I don't recall seeing your name there, but I only drop in when I'm on another tech chat and want to see if I can catch some hints in passing.
Go start your own group, fedora-banned and talk about whatever you want.
And if that's the bad mouth you put on people who spend a lot of time helping others, particularly newbies, I see why you get banned, probably didn't take the hint the first time you got kicked.

I suggest some possible approaches for you:
- If someone is upsetting you or not providing the info you seek, tell them that you don't think they are helping you, and /ignore them.
- If you find yourself getting frustrated or upset, step away from the channel for a while and do something relaxing.
- Try another support channel and see if that more matches your needs. This mailing list or the forums may match your needs better than IRC.
