Hello, I am trying to install the Clearlooks metacity theme. When I drag the theme's tarball file into the install theme dialog, the tarball appears in the field, but whe I click OK, the theme does not appear in the window. I am acquiring the theme from Gnome-Look.org.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Try unpacking the theme in the .themes directory under you home directory.

set the permissions to 777 on the theme file and try again....
I had the same problem and doing that fixed it. It didn't give me an error or anything, but that is what fixed it....
