Hi all,
having a very weird effect since some days: installing a new package with yum or rpm inside a gnome3-session resets the gnome-shell some seconds after the installation has been done (the screen flickers, window frames disappear and re-appear, like a gnome-shell restart). Sometimes, the gnome3 session crashes so it loggs out (with the "oh, no, something..." screen).
This happens too in a gnome-classsic session.
No such effect inside other session types (mate for example)
Anybody sees this too?
Kind regards

i use kde, so i would not see what you do.
i will make a few suggestions, as you do not mention doing such.
1 - are you running yum as root?
2 - are you using 'sudo' or 'su' to run yum?
3 - have you tried booting to level 3 to run yum?
4 - anything in logs?
