I ordered a new workstation from a well-known linux vendor. The workstations has:
2x AMD 7262 CPUs Supermicro H11DSI-B MB NVIDIA RTX 2080 Ti
The vendor says the MB is updated to latest (so this is not https://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=news_item&px=AMD-Releases-Linux-Z...)
and they have tried different memory and graphics cards. Unfortunately, they did not say HOW it fails to install.
They claim to have tried different Fedora versions. I'm assuming they tried F31 because I ordered with "latest Fedora version".
Any ideas?
Thanks, Neal
Send it to me... I'll get it running !
You might want to contact Wendell of Level1Techs on YouTube. He has installed and tested Linux on a lot of high end AMD machines. He is a "server guy" too.

Here is more info:
+ You tried Fedora F31?
- Yes, this is correct.
+ Please describe the failure mode.
- Fedora attempts to load but freezes on the first screen and as soon as the mouse pointer comes up.
+ Will the latest Ubuntu install (I believe that is 19.10)?
- This was installed with all drivers loaded and tested successfully. It is currently running tests on that OS.

I've no idea if it's relevant, but you appear to have an AMD motherboard with an Nvidia GPU. Although I'm sure this is legitimate in theory, I wonder if the Nvidia drivers for high-end GPUs play well with the AMD mobo.
It may also be worth asking if they tried the proprietary Nvidia driver as well as Nouveau. It's hard to guess what might be wrong if they won't give you specifics of the installation error.
Just a thought.
