Run libreoffice --calc from script and with Fedora 41 saw no warning messages using either the Fedora default install or version from libreoffice site.
Now with upgrade to Fedora 42 on 7 machines, I'm getting warning messages.
Versions of libreoffice installed. $rpm -qa | grep libreoffice | grep calc libreoffice-calc-25.2.3.2-1.fc42.x86_64 libreoffice25.2-calc-25.2.3.2-2.x86_64
Running the Fedora version get these warnings. $ libreoffice --calc warning: parent office:styles does not have any rules defined (child: style:style) warning: parent office:styles does not have any rules defined (child: style:style) warning: parent office:styles does not have any rules defined (child: style:style) warning: parent office:styles does not have any rules defined (child: style:style) warning: parent office:styles does not have any rules defined (child: style:style) warning: parent office:styles does not have any rules defined (child: style:style) warning: parent office:styles does not have any rules defined (child: style:style) warning: parent office:styles does not have any rules defined (child: style:style) warning: parent office:styles does not have any rules defined (child: style:style) warning: parent office:styles does not have any rules defined (child: style:style) warning: parent office:styles does not have any rules defined (child: style:style) warning: parent office:styles does not have any rules defined (child: style:style) warning: parent office:styles does not have any rules defined (child: style:style) warning: parent office:styles does not have any rules defined (child: style:style) warning: parent office:styles does not have any rules defined (child: style:style) warning: parent office:styles does not have any rules defined (child: style:style) warning: parent office:styles does not have any rules defined (child: style:style) warning: parent office:styles does not have any rules defined (child: style:style)
Seems to work fine, but seeing all those warning messages that didn't happen before the upgrade to 42? Also, strange the difference between parent have officice:styles and child: have style:style would expect to see the same.
With the Libreoffice installed in the /opt directory it runs with no messages. First time I ran it, it did mention issue with PYTHONHOME not being defined, so I defined it, and then that message went away.
$ libreoffice25.2 --calc $ export PYTHONHOME=/usr/lib64/python3.7; libreoffice25.2 --calc
I did compare the files in the Fedora libreoffice directory and the /opt libreoffice directory, and there are a number of files that Fedora doesn't have. Libreoffice version is -2 while Fedora's is -1?
Just seeing all these warnings. If you run from menu, you never even see these. Thanks.

It seems you installed LibreOffice from site's RPM Packages:
One F41 of my machines
# rpm -qa | grep libreoffice | grep calc libreoffice-calc-24.8.6.2-1.fc41.x86_64
One F42 upgraded from F41
# rpm -qa | grep libreoffice | grep calc libreoffice-calc-25.2.3.2-1.fc42.x86_64
I Think you must uninstall the site's packages and perhaps (or not) reinstall LibreOffice with DNF.
Hope helps.

You have libreoffice from fedora abd from somewhere else installed it seems. Do you both installed? Which packages libreoffice is failing?

Both versions seem to work, but Fedora's version gives a large number of warning messages. Both Packages install in completely separate locations.

I had tried reinstalling the LibreOffice via DNF, and makes no difference. The programs have co-existed with no problem thru many versions of Fedora. The programs are running from different locations.
$ which libreoffice /bin/libreoffice $ which libreoffice25.2 /bin/libreoffice25.2 $ ls -l /bin/libreoffice* -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 376 Apr 25 10:00 /bin/libreoffice lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 36 Apr 25 20:14 /bin/libreoffice25.2 -> /opt/libreoffice25.2/program/soffice
Both version show up on the office menu. The Fedora version with just LibreOffice and the RPMs from LibreOffice site had LibreOffice 25.2.
Only minor difference, is the Fedora version does not have the LibreOffice menu option to show main menu, while LibreOffice one does? Otherwise, seem to run as totally different packages.
Both version run fine. Running from menu, one would never see the warning messages.
It is just seeing all those warning messages showing up each time it runs.
Versus no warning with LibreOffice version?
$ libreoffice25.2 --calc $

Does calc work apart from those messages?

They already exist:
Looks like this isn't limited to Fedora, searching for that specific error
indicates others are having the problem on Arch and other distros, too.

No obvious solution listed yet...

Results seem to be the same, just that the messages occure so many times. So something thinks it needs to to stated more than once, and the difference in office:styles and style:style
Thanks for replies.
