Hi,
I wonder whether I can access the hard drive from liveCD. My machine has winXP installed and I want to access the text file using liveCD. However, I could not see the drive.
Thanks
Frank

If you are using FAT or VFAT, then yes. I don't know about NTFS, though.
Possibly the reason you couldn't see the drive is that you tried looking for it as /dev/hda; try /dev/sda instead. F7 uses libata, which has the peculiar effect of making IDE drives appear to be SCSI drives.

Nope. NTFS didn't mount for me. Also, F7live doesn't show the available drives on the desktop as I have seen knoppix do. Hardware detection, by the way, for me was excellent!

Ah. Did you modprobe the NTFS drivers first?

True. An RFE, perhaps? I used the command line tools.

So far (two machines), it has been very good for me.

It doesn't automount hard disk partitions automatically. File a RFE against livecd-tool in http://bugzilla.redhat.com if you want that feature. Meanwhile you can use mount to do it manually. FUSE NTFS is included in the live images too
