I was just looking at the Fedora Magazine https://fedoramagazine.org/, as I do from time to time, and was struck yet again by the bizarre organization of this resource. As far as I can see, there is no index - just what seems like a random collection of articles presented in a blog-like format. There is no list of back articles, which every other digital magazine I know provides.
When I think of the large amount of time that Matthew Miller - someone who has helped me on several occasions, and whom I hold in the highest regard - must spend collecting and editing the contributions, I'm completely baffled by the failure to offer an index, with links to past articles.

There's always googling at site:https//fedoramagazine.org/ :-).
Correct, as well as in-site search itself. The Magazine is in fact a blog format, not a periodical. Therefore indexing would be somewhat counter-intuitive.
Hi!
And what about an "Older articles" link? Some articles are on the spot like a new version or a deprecated software, but others have no due date so it would be nice if they don't get lost.
Cheers, Sylvia

Definition of "magazine" in the OED (Oxford English Dictionary): "A periodical publication containing articles and illustrations, often on a particular subject or aimed at a particular readership"
That seems to me to be an accurate description of the Fedora Magazine, which appears regularly every week (I think), ie periodically, and contains well-written articles by different authors. That is not my idea of a blog.
I don't find anything "counter-intuitive" in an index, particularly in a digital document. I was looking for an article I recalled seeing in the Fedora Magazine, and found the absence of an index, or indeed any link of any kind, bizarre (as I said) and inconvenient.

I agree. Sometimes, I haven't had time to read the articles for a while and would like to find out what has been posted in the last couple of weeks. At least now they have the previous and next links, so I can go to a current article and follow the previous links to get back to where I was.
I don't think an index or some kind of link to older articles is counter intuitive. I actually find it quite handy. My opinion.
Cheers, Sylvia

Yes; "Magazine" is somewhat a misnomer. It was named before it really took off, and once it took off, it grew in a direction different from the name. But it doesn't really seem worthwhile to rename it, and I don't think it really makes sense to force something that's working to change to fit the name, either.

I don't see any particular reason to be _opposed_ to an index if you'd like to work on one.
What is needed to add an index to the Magazine then?
