Hi! I have a strange situation when trying to update a fedora 30 installation: dnf is not working because all repositories give: "Failed to synchronize cache for repo"
and this is in the context of updating earlier a station f29->f32->f35
Any idea what is going on? It feels weird being able to update an older version but not this one...
Thanks a lot! Adrian

Those are big jumps. Are there any other error messages explaining why it's failing?

Hi,
If it's really a F30, it's EOL release, and I think repos are archived, I never upgraded from EOL releases which went EOL long ago, I guess, you can manually point to a mirror with archive repo[1] in /etc/yum.repos.d/ for fedora.repo, fedora-updates.repo (not sure about third party repos, if all provide archived EOL releases). Swich from metalink=... (comment it if used) to baseurl= and adjust it to use[1]

There's no need to suggest that. If it's using the metalink, it will automatically be directed to the archive mirrors. The problem might be that it's not using the metalink and has an outdated baseurl.

Didn't know it works with EOL releases, but it's good to know if I need it in future. (generally I upgrade on time)

Hi! Thanks a lot, it did not cross my mind to check the debug output of dnf.. it turned out that these machines had a specific gateway (a vm which was turned off) so the outgoing access was disabled (and i could access these a being in the same network) and i seen this from the fact that curl had timeout when trying mirrors.fedoraproject.org
Thanks a lot! Adrian
