Hi All,
This is my doing:
https://kbpdfstudio.qoppa.com/how-to-set-up-your-scanner-to-work-with-sane-a...
I inquired over on the sane mailing list as to getting it into their how to's but they ignored me. Is there a place for it in some Fedora how to list? It is specific to Fedora anyway.

I don't think Fedora has a user-contributed "wiki" per se, but you can become a contributor. Go to:
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Join
and sign up. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- - Rick Stevens, Systems Engineer, AllDigital ricks@alldigital.com - - AIM/Skype: therps2 ICQ: 22643734 Yahoo: origrps2 - - - - If this is the first day of the rest of my life... - - I'm in BIG trouble! - ----------------------------------------------------------------------

Tangential question: If that's necessary to get it working, why doesn't sane (and/or pdf studio) do that when they're installed?

Yes, absolutely! Check out
https://docs.fedoraproject.org/quick-docs/en-US/index.html
and the source repository at https://pagure.io/fedora-docs/quick-docs.
We're working on building this up (including adding search and some other infrastructure essentials). Familiarity with asciidoc will help a lot (create the document, make a pull request!) but otherwise you could file a ticket at https://pagure.io/fedora-docs/quick-docs and someone with asciidoc knowledge can help with the conversion.
