When might e2fsprogs 1.42.7 be available via YUM for Fedora 18? It seems there were some major fixes in that release but I don't want to install it from source if I don't have to.
Linux nix03 3.8.2-206.fc18.x86_64 #1 SMP Fri Mar 8 15:03:34 UTC 2013 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
Thanks!

typically a stable release does not get every update which problems are you facing with the one of F18? http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/packageinfo?packageID=231
maybe you first should do i kernel-update even Fedora 17 has 3.8.4-102.fc17 :-)

Yea, I haven't rebooted in a while... Might be time soon. Here is a copy of an email I sent to the ext3 mailing list:

And if you're using 64-bit file systems, you really really want to upgrade to 1.42.7 --- especially if you are ever thinking of using resize2fs; we fixed a number of very serious bugs, some of which could destroy file systems if you try to do off-line resizes. See the release notes for more details: http://e2fsprogs.sourceforge.net/e2fsprogs-release.html#1.42.7 Regards, - Ted
