Dear All,
Does Fedora 31 works fine on an AMD Ryzen 7 2700?
Thanks in advance,

I'm not aware of any issues with Linux on AMD in general. I've been running on a Gigabyte AX370 Gaming MB w/ Ryzen 5 2600 CPU. The only problem I had was instability until I updated the MB BIOS. It's been rock solid ever since.
Thanks, Richard

I've been running Fedora on my Ryzen 5 1600 for a couple of years now with no real issues.
I've not heard of any issues with Ryzen processors and Linux.

I did an install yesterday on a X570 with a 3600X. It works perfectly. Only issue is sensors isn't seeing any fan speeds.
It's amazing how many processes you can run in the background while the computer remains responsive to regular work.

Dear All,
Now that I have just installed Fedora 31 on my new computer, I can confirm that everything went smoothly and that Fedora 31 works perfectly on an AMD Ryzen 7 2700!
Kind regards,
Paul

That looks like it only affects mobile chips (with a U on the end) and looks like the fix is committed so should find its way into Fedora kernels soon-ish.
Thanks, Richard

Indeed, mine is a desktop computer.

I've found that Linux has been extremely responsive to the recent processor releases. Much better than Windows has been and Mac doesn't adjust to new processors, processors have to conform to the Mac OS.
