So far, k3b has only written 1251180544 bytes
and is unable to go past sector 610,928
So, I guess it is either css or physical damage.
But it is a brand new DVD, and I have not yet
taken it to my friend's place to watch together
on their huge 120 inch screen.
So, the "Rip Video DVD" does not seem to be working. I wouldn't be able to
definitively assign blame.
[egreshko@meimei ~]$ rpm -q libdvdcss
libdvdcss-1.4.2-1.fc28.x86_64
Is the current version I've installed. But, I've not used that version to copy
DVDs. I've used that function since I currently don't have a DVD to try.
I've asked to borrow one, but won't get it until (if they have one), until
tomorrow
everning. Previously I've not had a problem.
When you posted about your installed libdvdcss you posted...
$ ll /usr/lib64/libdvd*
lrwxrwxrwx. 1 root root 18 Jan 29 2017 /usr/lib64/libdvdcss.so
albeit, it is of a slightly older vintage.
Which is a symbolic link only. If that is the full output then it seems rather odd.
[egreshko@meimei ~]$ ll /usr/lib64/libdvd*
lrwxrwxrwx. 1 root root 18 Mar 24 23:30 /usr/lib64/libdvdcss.so.2 ->
libdvdcss.so.2.2.0
-rwxr-xr-x. 1 root root 37888 Mar 24 23:30 /usr/lib64/libdvdcss.so.2.2.0
lrwxrwxrwx. 1 root root 18 Jul 23 19:49 /usr/lib64/libdvdnav.so.4 ->
libdvdnav.so.4.2.0
-rwxr-xr-x. 1 root root 89880 Jul 23 19:49 /usr/lib64/libdvdnav.so.4.2.0
lrwxrwxrwx. 1 root root 19 Jul 23 17:21 /usr/lib64/libdvdread.so.4 ->
libdvdread.so.4.2.0
-rwxr-xr-x. 1 root root 125768 Jul 23 17:21 /usr/lib64/libdvdread.so.4.2.0
Would be more like what one would expect.
