Hi, How can i know which version of GNOME is running? In my FC2 box sometimes a hardware goes undetected and sometimes the same hardware is detected. It happened with my modem and sound card. Why does this happen? Any suggestions.
Thank you,
with regards, ashwin

For the GNOME version, try right-clicking on the panel and selecting "About GNOME". For the hardware detection stuff, try disabling the "PNP OS" option in the BIOS, or, if it really bothers you, try upgrading the BIOS and/or firmware/ROM of the different components in your PC. Take care, though, failure to comply PERFECTLY with the flashing instructions will almost certainly result in a serious malfunction.

I have disable pnp os option(it has been set to no), but still either my sound card or the modem goes undetected. Any work-around.
