I have a Dell d820. I try to boot the Live CD and it just hangs and will not boot.
What gives? The Fedora 7 RC2 Live CD works.

Yes, I guess for a dual core that tells the kernel that there are 2 cpu's?

You may have troubles with the ACPI interface. Try using acpi=off
