I'm not using a windows machine. I don't use windows. I only use Linux, and basically, only Fedora. I install other distros now and again just to see, but I always use fedora.Yes, I notice that hotmail is not wrapping the lines correctly. They jsut go on and on. How come?I am not sure how to selectively disable html, but I will have a look at the options. I don't like this windoes live mail at all. It is very slow to reload and rebuild a page and doesn't seem to like firefox, or something. I keep getting errors. Maybe I'll have to create a google account, but I'm tired of having so many email accounts and want to consolidate. _________________________________________________________________ Live Search: New search found http://get.live.com/search/overview

Interestingly, I examined this last messasge of yours. The HTML half has nice paragraph breaks. The plain text part has no breaks. I'd say hotmail is completely mangling its "rich text -> plain text" conversion, and that's reason enough to discard it (or find a way to post using a better tool than the web interface).
One approach may be to connect a non-web mail reader to your hotmail account. Does it allow POP or IMAP access? If so, you could connect something like thunderbird (or getmail or fetchmail, depending on your mail setup) to the pop/imap service, and set up your outgoing email to use your hotmail address on the headers.
That would let you keep and use your single address which using a better mail client to work with it.

I can understand that, but you've picked the spawn of the devil to work with. I'm sure if you say what you want from a service (webmail or not, IMAP, POP3, masses of storage, your own domain name, etc.), you'll get some suggestions of what to try.

Hey, thanks. I guess I'll just have to go and have a look :-)
I ended up switching windows live mail to classic and now it works a lot better. But google's better yet. Are they still gmail or googlemail now? I notived that their pop/smtp servers are all googlemail.
