F34: volumeicon error

Hi,

I use volumeicon to control my volume from my system tray on openbox.

However, over the past 2 weeks, since some Fedora 34 nightly update, I have been having the following:

$ volumeicon
snd_mixer_handle_events: No such file or directory

How do I get around this problem? I looked around but was unable to get some advice.
