Once upon a time, I did something (don't remember what now) to delete all of the language packs for Open Office. Some time later (perhaps during an upgrade), they came back :(
The annoying thing about them is that they gobble up hundreds of megabytes of space on my HD and bandwidth during 'yum update's.
How do I get rid of these language packs?
Thanks, Jay

yum list available | grep langpack
yum erase <list you choose from above>
Thanks, but that doesn't seem to work... For example, in the listing of updates (following 'yum update'), I see entries like:
openoffice.org-langpack-pt_PT.i386
But, this is not listed in the output of: 'yum list available | grep langpack'
the output I get looks like: ... koffice-langpack-pt.noarch 1.6.2-1 extras koffice-langpack-pt_BR.noarch 1.6.2-1 extras ... The only open office lang packs listed are: openoffice.org-langpack-bn_IN.i386 1:2.0.2-5.21.2 updates openoffice.org-langpack-ga_IE.i386 1:2.0.2-5.21.2 updates openoffice.org-langpack-sr_CS.i386 1:2.0.2-5.21.2 updates
WTF,O?
Thanks, Jay

Jay,
What does
rpm -qa | grep langpack
produce? I get nothing here. You could also do a yum remove *org-langpack*.
Bob...

try
yum list installed | grep langpack
and then see whether you have langpacks installed that you do not want.
HTH! Trotter
WTF,O?
Thanks, Jay
