Hi,
I've read a lot of threads in Fedora-Devel and here about the license of Mysql 4.x and PHP. Here:
http://www.mysql.com/products/opensource-license.html
You can see about the license, and it's has a note about PHP 3.0 I've read about this note on Fedora Devel, that MySQL was trying to license MySQL 4.x to use with PHP 4.x and I don't know if now it's okay. I couldn't find any information about it.
I wish to use MySQL 4.x with Fedora Core 1 and PHP 4.x, may I, or may not????
Thanks! And sory if it's not the place for such question, I'm really confused about that.

you probably can. in particular, if your application is not for sale, you should be free and clear.
if your application is for sale, well, things are more complicated.

Please, stop spreading that lie right now.
You can charge for distributing copies of your software even when linked with the GPL'ed libraries.
HOWEVER, never forget that you must respect the GPL distribution requirements, which include covering the combined program with the GPL as well.
What you CAN'T DO, is non-GPL'ed program with MySQL's GPL'ed libraries.
MySQL abuses the confusion between proprietary and commercial in their site in order to mislead people into thinking they have to buy a special license when a lot of times they don't need to, they just need to make it fully Free (as in speech) Software for everyone.

Ola Nelson,
They refer to PHP's License version 3 and not to PHP. Don't worry. I've made that confusion in the past too.
This should make it very clear for you:
[rms@roque rms]$ head -4 /usr/share/doc/php-4.3.4/LICENSE -------------------------------------------------------------------- The PHP License, version 3.0 Copyright (c) 1999 - 2002 The PHP Group. All rights reserved. --------------------------------------------------------------------

Humm, interresting.... Thanks for that.
But I've read that it wasn't aproved yet, and, if is now aproved, Fedora Core can contain version 4.x of Mysql?
Thanks! []'s
