NIC lockup in 3.8.8 (forcedeth)

Is anyone running hardware with nforce gige NICs that use the forcedeth  
kernel module.

Twice now, after updating to 3.8.8, after ~24 hours of runtime the server  
drops off the network, with its port on the NIC flashing crazy. ifdown  
works, ifup hangs forever.

3.8.8-202.fc18.x86_64

NIC statistics:
…
     rx_errors_total: 4876634
…
     rx_drop_frame: 4876634
…

Despite the errors no network downtime.
But the primary display(HDMI/nouveau) getting disconnected.
