Are there any plans to update Evolution to a newer version (e.g. 2.4.x) in Fedora Core 4?
There is a major bug in 2.2.3 when trying to use the "Convert to Task" feature on an email that causes Evolution to crash.

You can file a bug report in http://bugzilla.redhat.com. Its unlikely that Fedora Core 4 would get a update to Evolution 2.4 since its likely to pull in new dependencies. However a fix might be backported to fix this particular problem if deemed significant.

I think we need to upgrade to 2.4 because I had some messages from evo developers... One of the most frequent answer is: Please upgrade to the latest stable version as andre has mentioned as there is no active development going on evolution-2.2.
How is possible to upgrade to 2.4?
Tnx a lot to all and have a good and happy 2006

Checked various repos out of curiosity. 2.2 is available in base repos, updates-testing, and at freshrpms and atrpms. Didn't see 2.4. 2.5 is available in development.

I can send you the RPMs but I have to tell you that 2.4 represents a decline in functionality and quality IMO.
I recently switched to Sylpheed-Claws (Fedora Extras) after several years of Evo (since Redhat 9) and I extremely pleased with the speed and flexibility. Migration of mailboxes and addresses was a snap.
ThunderBird is great too, but unfortunately Evolution is the only one with decent Calendar and Task support. Unless you can recomment something else.

Thunderbird is another bloated, ponderous, limited ability mail client IMO.
Prior to moving to Sylpheed-Claws, I was using http://www.phpgroupware.org rather than Evolution. There are many similar packages out there like tent, OBM, MyTaskOrg, etc.
