I have a Dell Inspiron 530S desktop with an Nvidia graphics card. The hardware is at http://www.smolts.org/show?UUID=pub_f3670c10-289f-4e85-804b-60babb27fb23
The machine runs F8 fully up to date and has kmod-nvidia installed. The desktop is KDE3.5
Almost everything runs well and without any problems - but for a long time there has been a really awful colour problem when running Real video and Skype.
Two examples of the problem are on the screenshots at: http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=mhvk1t&s=4 http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=20ggy84&s=4 These were obtained by going to the test page at http://service.real.com/test/ and running the videos - it does not seem to make any difference installing a different version of Realplayer. I have the same setup on a different machine with different hardware and not running kmod-nvidia and there is no problem with colour with the same tests.
Flash video on web pages is fine and I am not aware of other colour issues but I have been unable to fathom out how to fix this problem.
Does anyone have any hints as to what I may do, or a workaround, or suggestion as to where I might look to fix this?

Apologies for the double post.

I just tried running Ekiga and the video image is perfect... just seems to be wrong in Skype and Real!
Would be nice to be able to fix this.

Just as a matter of interest, Mike, in RealPlayer have you unchecked "Use XVideo" (Tools > Preferences > Hardware > Driver Options)?

Yes it worked with your suggestion for RealPlayer - thanks Michael.
However the Skype colour problem remains - the camera is a Phillips SPC900NC and uses the in kernel pwc driver I don't know if that is relevant - In the case of Skype there are no obvious controls to change anything concerning video from the UI although there are files in ~/.Skype and maybe adding some mysterious ingredient to one or other file could fix it?
I use the same camera on a Dell 5150 with onboard graphics and there is no problem with colour - so it is clearly only on the Dell 530S with the nvidia graphics where I have the problem.
I can't bugzilla this as Skype is not a Fedora supported application. It is possible that the Skype forums may yield a solution but there is much more chance that a Fedora expert who is familiar with video and Skype may be monitoring this site.
Would be great to have this solved.

After recent updates including updates during the Livna to rpmfusion transition I have now tried both Skype and Real and they work perfectly. So I don't know what was fixed but it it working well now....
