Dear All,
How can I change the default Internet browser on F28?
Thanks in advance,
Paul

Your question may, or may not, have a simple answer. It all depends on what you mean by "default browser" and the desktop you're using as well as the applications calling the browser.
Anyway, I use KDE as my DE and Chrome as my browser. I also use T-Bird for my mail client where most of the links are that I want to open.
So, the following works for me....
xdg-settings set default-web-browser google-chrome.desktop xdg-settings set default-url-scheme-handler http google-chrome.desktop xdg-settings set default-url-scheme-handler https google-chrome.desktop
You would replace the google-chrome.desktop with the appropriate desktop file for your preferred browser. The desktop file would be located in...
/usr/share/applications/

Thanks, Ed. I did as you suggested, but no luck, unfortunately: I am using a program that opens on the default browser, and I would like to have Chrome as the default browser, but the mentioned program always opens on Firefox.
By the way, I am using XFCE as desktop manager.

In order to help resolve an issue it is normally helpful to know exactly what you're trying to do.
So, what is the "program" you're using that you'd like to have make a call to chrome?
By the way, I am using XFCE as desktop manager.
Good to know.

What does System menu -> Settings -> Preferred Applications -> Internet show?
