People,
I just updated from F20 x86_64 to F21 via fedup and although it took a while - it was completely painless!
The only thing that was odd was when downloading RPMs (console) parts of one line would be duplicated over the whole screen and then letters would start disappearing (an odd screensaver thing?) - I don't know what that was about but it was just a display thing and pushing SHIFT caused a sensible output again.
The only package issue was some dependency problem with pdftk but I will worry about that later.
Thanks again people!

I've tried this on my own fc20 workstation ....
fedup --network 21 -- instrepo=http://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/fedora/linux/development/21/x86_64/os/ --nogpgcheck --skipbroken
And it says....
fedup: error: argument --network: invalid VERSION value: '21'
Can anyone make a suggestion about what to try next ?

Best to disable the rpmfusion repos at the moment..... I don't think they have their act fully together at this time.

Is there a clever YUM command that can fix this ? Was thinking I might have to just re-install the system to upgrade.

Why are you adding --skip-broken ?

Considering that Final RC4 came out this morning, I will continue to beta test and not update my production notebook for another week. I maintain a local repo for my testing, and lots of rpms were updated overnight. Perhaps none you or I use, but we are still seeing changes to the os directory and nothing yet in updates.
So make sure to run your 'yum update' regularly and expect updates for base, rather than update.

Phil.

Doubtful. Highly doubtful. Why? Because in the output you show there are F21 packages installed already. Next to F20 ones. Duplicates. A broken installation so to say. What have you done prior to the two upgrade attemps mentioned above?

Then, remove them one by one with yum or, if it won't cooperate, rpm. BTDT and it will take a lot of time, but if you're patient, you'll get things cleaned up enough that --cleandupes will work.

That doesn't answer above question, but perhaps you didn't want that.
What I mean is: The Fedora 21 key is included with Fedora 20 since Nov 2013 or so, see /etc/pki/rpm-gpg/*fedora-21* and therefore it is available to Yum, for example.
Fedora 21 will be publicly available on Tuesday, December 09, 2014.
