Dear All,
Is there some way of running
flameshot
on GNOME Wayland, other than using the terminal with:
flameshot gui
?
Is not there a much more efficient way?
Thanks in advance,
Paul

The package ships with a .desktop file:
$ dnf repoquery -l flameshot | grep desk /usr/share/applications/org.flameshot.Flameshot.desktop
So based on https://flameshot.org/docs/guide/faq/#flameshot-doesn-t-start-no-tray-icon, you should be able to start the background daemon by just hitting your Windows/Meta key and typing "flame" and hitting enter on the right entry.
Then in theory the key bindings should take over ( https://flameshot.org/docs/guide/key-bindings/)
If you want the key bindings to work seamlessly without even starting the daemon, you should be able to work out what's being run from /usr/share/applications/org.flameshot.Flameshot.desktop and work that into a systemd unit file that runs on startup? ( https://www.reddit.com/r/linux4noobs/comments/svz7o5/systemd_startup_process... will give you a starting point...)
Probably worth skimming these too if you have problems: - https://flameshot.org/docs/guide/troubleshooting/ - https://flameshot.org/docs/guide/wayland-help/
Thanks, Will, for your precious help!
