My F25 KDE Plasma completly froze. I even could not do Alt-SysReq REISUB. I had to turn it off. Is there a way to see if I can get some messages that would help me to understand what happened? Frédéric

If you are using nvidia graphics and the nouveau driver, it could be the same as this:

After you rebooted, journalctl should be able to show you any logs from before the reboot if they managed to get flushed to disk. If they didn't you probably won't be able to discover anything.

Yes I am using nvidia with nouveau. I my case, I could not login by ssh. The machine was unreachable.
In the journal, however, I do not see anything related to nouveau. I can see many many many of lines such as: kernel: usb 1-1.4: new high-speed USB device number 63 using xhci_hcd with different numbers. I suppose this is because I was writing a lot of data (video) to a USB3 hard disk at that time.

No, this only logged that a new USB device was attached to the system. Has nothing to do with actually writing anything.

I am not using Nvidia (Intel) and I have experienced the same several times. Since there is nothing in the journal at the time it locks up, I have no data about the freeze. I also would love to know how to obtain problem source identification data. I first encountered this with F25 and it seems to be much more persistent now.
The lock up occurs over night after display is turned off by the power management stuff.
