Dear All
After having done the today updates, with gtk applications I get dozens of lines like the following in the console:
«bad image index
(gedit:3449): Gtk-WARNING **: Icon cache '/usr/share/icons/hicolor/icon-theme.cache' is invalid»
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance,
Paul

Run gtk apps with strerr redirected to /dev/null ? :-)
It has been my experience that all gtk apps have always spewed enough errors on stderr to make you think the end of the world has come. The real question is "Does the thing work?". If so, ignore the errors.

Thanks, Tom. OK, I will ignore the errors since the applications seem to work fine.

I have found a solution to prevent those so many warning messages in the console:
as root, do
rm /usr/share/icons/hicolor/autopackage-installer.png rm /usr/share/pixmaps/hicolor/autopackage-installer.png
