Hi, I'm not sure but I think you should have a registeration on rhn or simply you can update packages you need directly (via web) from redhat ----- Original Message ----- From: neil.derraugh@sympatico.ca Date: Tue, 31 Aug 2004 9:58:45 -0400 To: fedora-list@redhat.com Subject: Red Hat Network Up2Date problem
Hi,
The up2date icon on my task bar (system tray?) is telling me there are 6 updates to be had (0 ignored). But when I run the app it, after querying the servers, it tells me that my system is up2date (sorry couldn't resist). This has been going on for several weeks (if not months).
Any one know why? Or how to resolve this issue?
Thanks, Neil Derraugh

Do NOT register! Fedora does not need any RHN registration. Even if you do it up2date will become not working any longer.

If on RH9 you would have needed the registration. On FC{1|2} no rhn registration is needed. However, it may be easier to try yum for the update.

I should perhaps mention I have the same problem as the original poster - 6 updates available but up2date tells me all is good (I'm up2date).
The packages in question are kernel-doc ones. It tells me I have:
kernel-doc-2.6.5-1.358
The packages I need to update according to the Red Hat Network tool:
kernel-doc-2.6.8-1.521 kernel-doc-2.6.7-1.494.2.2 kernel-doc-2.6.6-1.435.2.1 kernel-doc-2.6.6-1.427 kernel-doc-2.6.6-1.435 kernel-doc-2.6.6-1.435.2.3
Something's totally screwy here, and I thought I'd just let you guys know in case the OP has exactly the same problem.
I just ignore it because kernel-doc doesn't phase me.
