hi list is there any terminal server for Fedora Core that is not resourse intensive, it may be supporting a very few clients but should not be resourse hungry Regards Azeem

If I am reading between the lines correctly, you have multiple users that you want to be able to connect to a box running FC4 at the same time and you ant to do so with out the box expending too much energy serving up the sessions. If this is right I think you have two options:
If all of your users are console (text only) users they can connect to the box using: ssh (works out of the box) telnet (requires a little setup to get it to work) rlogin (also requires some setup to get it to work)
If they are needing access to GUI applications: They need to be running an X client/server If users are using Windows checkout Reflections X ($) Hummingbird ($) If they are also Fedora/Unix users they already have the software on their box (free)
Is this what you were looking for?

in fact i got Linux server and windows clients, i want windows clients to access Linux machine's GUI, i have done this by sharing the Linux desktop with rdesktop and using tightvnc viewer on windows clients, but in fact i dont want a shared desktop on client, instead i want different desktop for every individual, mean every client who logs in must get his own desktop without interrupting the Linux server local desktop and any clients desktop Regards Azeem

You want X, then.
On the server, configure gdm to allow XDMCP logins. See this thread for assistance: https://www.redhat.com/archives/fedora-list/2004-April/thread.html#03669
Give the users an X server implementation for their desktops (http://www.cygwin.com/ has a build of x.org available for windows that works like a champ).
Viola, you're all set. Good luck!
i studied both but didnt get any sense :(, in fact what i want to implement is that through windows XP build in Remote Desktop Client connecting Linux server's GUI.

If I am not mistaken, the XP RDC does not understand the remote desktop protocols that are offered natively by Fedora and/or Red Hat. You have to install a different remote desktop client. See the previously mentioned solutions.

If what you are wanting is the Windows "Remote Desktop Client" itself to be able to access Linux you are out of luck. Linux does not run an RDP service. It only has RDP clients.
If what you are wanting is _functionality_ of the Windows RDP server, that is implemented in Linux via the X environment. The suggestions given so far are really your only options.

To make sense of it, you have to understand X terminology. An X server serves a display and keyboard to programs that are clients. Thus you have to install X server software on the desktop pc's you would call clients.
Personally you would have to think of it this way, just like Windows has Terminal Server , and a Remote Desktop Client software, similarly you may want to think of FreeNX server as the Win Term Server equivalent and the NX client software as the RDP client aka Remote Desktop Client Software.
Cheers,
Aly.

Or look at nomachine.com which sells NX server additionally there is FreeNX which you can look into and its supposed to be really good for what it does.
Cheers,
Aly.

There are at least 3 ways that will work. One is to install X on the windows boxes (the free cygwin version is fine), enable XDCMP on the server and log in with 'xwin -query server'. Or you can use -multiwindow mode if you just want to run individual apps from Linux instead of a whole desktop. The latter mode would consume the least server resources.
Another is to let xinetd start the vnc sessions so everyone gets their own. This would take no changes on the windows side but has slighly worse performance than native X on a local LAN. (Note that the k12ltsp distribution, a slightly modified fedora, has this mode enabled by default).
Another is to install freenx on the server and the free nxclient software from www.nomachine.com. This is the best for low-bandwidth connections and is an easy install on the windows boxes compared to cygwin X.

you might want to check out the freenx server on the linux box and the nomachines.com windows client. it gives you an x desktop with minimal x traffic on the lan. what it does to cpu occupancy on the serverbox, i don't know.
