FC2: fwtk http-gw fixes or alternative recommendations?

has anyone done the fixes to get the old tis firewall tool kit to work under
fedora core 2, or else can any recommend an alternative the old http-gw?

(i do plan to look at potential squid configurations to see if i can coerce it
into doing what i want.)
