Hello to everyone...
On FC8, I have problem with printing large queues, larger than 1.5 megabytes... Is this some kind of timeout, or maybe something else? Where do I control queues? I have checked out cupsd.conf, printers.conf and every *.conf in /etc/cups folder but I just can't find anything that would limit such queues. Printer is connected through USB. Maybe dbus-1 or something else control USB? Please help... It's a big problem on production servers...

That's the problem. I don't get an error message. Printing just stop, as if timeout occurs. The same happen when I try to print on local printer, or on SMB printer, or on LPD printer. I have tried to configure Samba, Cupsd, and nothing was helpful.

Also, on Windows machine, after about 15 minutes I get an error "Error - printing" for that document. On some dot-matrix printer this occurs after longer period then 15 minutes.

If local printing isn't working, the problem is local.

It prints out 90 pages or so, and than just stops. In some cases I got more than 100 pages printed out.

1. My file which I want to print is 17667619 bytes (name file.esc.pcl6) 2. I have defined another file as my printer (because I ran out of paper... :-) ): touch /tmp/file.prn chmod a+rw /tmp/file.prn chown lp.lp /tmp/file.prn lpadmin -p printer1 -E -v parallel:/tmp/file.prn service cups restart 3. lpr -Pprinter1 file.esc.pcl6 4. After step 3, file size of /tmp/file.prn keeps increasing until the size of 9646058 bytes, and then just stops.

I didn't realise that your 'printer1' queue was a pre-existing queue with a PPD already set up; I thought you were demonstrating a problem with raw print queues. There is no problem with the file size difference, as the input file has been processed as expected.
