yum localinstall worked like a champ. I was looking in the wrong place trying to find the answer in rpm.
Yes, I am posting from my XP platform as I am trying to bring the new laptop up to speed on Fedora and have not configured Thunderbird on it yet.

Are you aware of Seamonkey (also from Mozilla)? It combines a browser, news/mail/rss reader, HTML composer, and chat program in a single suite. Depending on how you like to use your computer it's either "wonderfully integrated" or "ridiculously bloated." ;-)
