In Fedora 11 there is no longer a syslog.conf, nor is there a man page describing the file.
I cant believe that there is no longer a way to control syslog output to the messages file.
So, how have the children changed (notice I dont say screwed up) this one?

/etc/rsyslog.conf
It's consistent with the replacement of syslogd with rsyslogd at some point in the past.

In Fedora 11 not... Since Fedora 8 yes:

Check /etc/rsyslog.conf
