Are Macromedia Flash Player and Shockwave Flash Player the same thing? If not, can they co-exist on one browser?
I'm using Firefox 1.0.7 under FC4 with the Shockwave Flash Player installed and enabled but the flash items won't displaybut instead displays "click here to download flashplayer plugin". When I do that installation, nothing changes, it still won't display.
Thanks, Tom

No, but I don't think it's necessary. Flash simply does Flash, Shockwave does Flash and its own extras.

To install software through the browser, you need to enable the setting that allows that. You *may* need to be a root user to install software, too.
