Could you post more info? It will show when the error message happens and should give a clue as to what may be causing the issue. Meaning, it may help understand if the issue is with dnf, or with a repository.

thank you for answering me Ed,
I get this message (<*gpg.errors.GPGMEError: GPGME: Invalid crypto engine*>) after the command <*sudo dnf upgrade --refresh*>
in my opinion this is a problem connected to PGP ... (...something about the keys usage---)
I know this tip, but not enough to do any serious control of the bug..
Thank you for your help

Well, I was asking for a bit more than just the error message.

hi Ed ,
I didn't finish upgrading to Fedora 32.
I have to perform two commands :
1. sudo dnf system-upgrade download --releasever=34
- sudo dnf system-upgrade reboot.
I waited to do it, fearing that in my (particular) environment I needed to use some special switch like it was for the last command.
What do you think about... ?
Can you help me also in this last part of upgrading ?
Angelo

I have to perform two commands :

I haven't done a 2 version upgrade. I've always just done current+1.
Have a look at https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/quick-docs/dnf-system-upgrade/
I would follow that but first go to F33. That is --releasever=33
And, if you run into issues post the full error messages. I think everyone on this list is willing to help.

I didn't finish upgrading to Fedora 32.
I think you meant to write that you've updated your F32 system. Yes?
I have to perform two commands :
- sudo dnf system-upgrade download --releasever=34
- sudo dnf system-upgrade reboot.
I haven't done a 2 version upgrade. I've always just done current+1.
Have a look at https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/quick-docs/dnf-system-upgrade/
I would follow that but first go to F33. That is --releasever=33
And, if you run into issues post the full error messages. I think everyone on this list is willing to help.

the same problem (<*gpg.errors.GPGMEError: GPGME: Invalid crypto engine*>) with the command <*sudo dnf system-upgrade download --releasever=33*>
OK....
Let me do some checking. The --nogpgcheck was just a work around that I was hoping would clear things up.
It may take a bit of time as it is late in my day.
But, what is the output of....
rpm-gpg]$ rpm -qa gpg-pubkey* | grep 12c944d0
No sudo needed for that.

A cat woke me....
One more thing to also try.....
sudo dnf system-upgrade clean sudo dnf clean all sudo rpm --import /etc/pki/rpm-gpg/* sudo dnf system-upgrade download --releasever=33

Any update on the problems you're facing?

Older crypto policies have been turned off in the latest fedora versions. Try the command, update-crypto-policies --set LEGACY Once you get to f34, you can then use update-crypto-policies --set DEFAULT to get the stronger encryption again. I'm not sure that will work, you might have to update the package crypto-policies to a later version by downloading a later one from here (for f34?), https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/packageinfo?packageID=18548 and then running dnf -C update [crypto-policies package]
