Why is finding windows spice drivers so hard?
by Alon Levy
Sorry for not making this a reply to the original (I hope the subject will be
enough), not sure how to do that. Reply inline.

Enough conspiracies right now, this isn't another one.

Yes, spice-space.org/download.html is the canonical location.
The source repositories are hosted by freedesktop, also linked
from spice-space.org, including the qxl windows driver.
Latest windows driver is http://www.spice-space.org/download/binaries/qxl-win32-0.6.1.zip
The rest of the windows binaries:
client - the client.
virtio-serial driver - for agent (copy-paste, better mouse, automatic resize for full screen,
wan performance by guest changes)
guest agent - the agent to run in the windows guest for said features
libraries - only required if you want to build from source. A collection of all the dependencies of
the client (to build the driver you need only the spice-protocol and windows kernel driver stack).

^^^ SPICE - REMOTE CLIENT
by Tom Horsley
How do I get rid of the uber-annoying SPICE - REMOTE CLIENT
semi-transparent logo at the top of my spice client display
window? It clutters things up (especially when I have a
program running maximized in my virtual machine).
I'm using fedora 14 standard repos for all my qemu/spice
software, and a magic wrapper around the qemu-kvm
emulator to fiddle my options and enable spice.
Please don't tell me rebuilding the source is the only way
(I don't even know where it is coming from - the spicec
client or the qxl video driver).

Fedora 13 ?
579348 fixed for F13 distro?
Fedora 13 is still considered under active maintenance but this issue seems
to be ignored in preference to 14 and now apparently 15. To be honest is
this problem going to be addressed or not?

update of spice packages possible for virt-preview repof13?
by KC8LDO
Good luck. I've been promised that an update to the normal F-13 qemu-KVM
RPM's would be done which I think has the fix included to prevent Windows XP
and 2000 crashing on reboot when doing the GUI part of their installation. I
have yet to see them.

Fedora 12 i686 - Virtual Machine Manager won't start
by Brendan Whelan
Hi,
Around three months ago, on my test/development laptop, I setup a
virtual service and cloned it. I used the two versions without any
problem for a few weeks. Today, I tried to open the Virtual Machine
Manager but got:
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/usr/share/virt-manager/virt-manager.py", line 404, in <module>
main()
File "/usr/share/virt-manager/virt-manager.py", line 345, in main

File "/usr/share/virt-manager/virtManager/engine.py", line 39, in

File "/usr/share/virt-manager/virtManager/details.py", line 35, in

from virtManager.serialcon import vmmSerialConsole
File "/usr/share/virt-manager/virtManager/serialcon.py", line 22, in
<module>
import vte
ImportError: /lib/libncurses.so.5: undefined symbol: _nc_set_no_padding
I have updated the F12 rebooted but the problem persists.
Does anyone know how I can overcome this problem?
Thanks, Brendan

update of spice packages possible for virt-preview repo f13?
by Gianluca Cecchi
Hello,
on my F13 and virt-preview repo there is spice-protocol-0.6.0-1.fc13.noarch
I see that F14 was indeed shipped with 0.6.0 based packages.
Then on 19Oct spice-protocol-0.6.3-1.fc14.noarch.rpm was released as an update.
I would like to test packages that require 0.6.3 version of spice components.
Is it planned to refresh the virt-preview repo for f13? Or now that we
are on f14 I have to upgrade to that version to benefit from newer
updates?
Thanks
Gianluca
