I could do that if I was installing XP, but I'm
just trying to get an existing XP image working
again (which I did eventually :-).

You don't happen to know if there is some mysterious
highly underdocumented magic key I can hit during boot
to get an existing XP to load new drivers at boot time
do you? Or some magic commands I can use by booting
to a safe mode command line?
