java plugin status

Greetings. Do we have any folks that know/talk to the openjdk maintainers? The java plugin + webkit is in some turmoil still, IMHO. F12 & F13: version 1.6.0.0-42.b18.fc13 and 1.6.0.0-40.b18.fc12 are available, but at least some crash reports are still there: says it still happens: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=615502#c25 these midori bugs seem related still (it's not the same glibc kill, it's something else, but it sure looks java plugin related. https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=598947 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=600698 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=612045 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=632795 F14 & rawhide: Are currently inheriting an old f13 build (1.6.0.0-41.b18.fc13) Shouldn't they at least have the same build version as f13? I don't see crashes with this version, but I do see 100% cpu hangs and other odd behavior. Thoughts? kevin

inspector

Greetings. There's a reasonable request in: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=566744 about moving the webkit inspector into the main package from the -devel subpackage. The inspector is useful for many people who may not want to install the needed 31(!) devel packages to have it. I looked at just moving it into the main package and it seems to work just fine in there in midori at least. There's a f14 scratch build here: http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=2462354 Thoughts? Any objections to moving it? kevin

webkitgtk updates

Greetings. I mailed pgordon a while back and have not yet heard anything back. ;( Would anyone object to me updating webkitgtk to fix the current pending security issues? Currently we have: f12: 1.2.0 f13: 1.2.0 f14: 1.3.2 rawhide: 1.3.2 I'd like to update f12/f13 to 1.2.3 and the others I guess to 1.3.3. Not sure why we moved f14/devel to the development stream, does anyone know? I'd like to do this soon as it's been way too long already... but I can hold off if there is a good reason. (ie, if a newer release is just about to happen upstream or something). Thoughts? kevin

midori bugs

Also, just a heads up... I went and triaged/dealt with the pending midori bugs in bugzilla this last week. Went from 71 down to 15. ;) https://admin.fedoraproject.org/pkgdb/acls/bugs/midori Most of the ones that are left are quite possibly webkit (according to midori upstream). Should I reassign those over to webkitgtk? Or would folks here like to take a look and see if they can make anything of them/add upstream webkit bugs? I'll note that there are still f14/rawhide java bugs, as java in f14/rawhide does not seem to be the updated version that works. :( (only f12/f13 were updated). kevin
