Hi all, Yesterday i was talking with Karsten and Bob Jensen, about the new CSS. While we were talking, Bob suggested me to take a look into Fedora Unity website (http://www.fedoraunity.org). Their current layout, is based on the default theme of Fedora Core 6. So my suggestion is, since we are migrating the wiki, why not also do a small revamp of the layout? Dimitris is already working on the new CSS (already implemented in http://webtest.fedora.redhat.com/wiki), with a new top 'DNA' banner. I know that several people prefer to keep it simple, but with a small change we could have an even more 'integrated' feel between Fedora Core, and Fedora Project. With this in mind, we could also release a new theme whenever a new version of Fedora is released. Just a suggestion really... Paulo

Wiki page structure [RFC]

I just created a common section to cover how a Wiki page should be structured: http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/WikiEditing#Structure_of_a_Wiki_Page We already follow this for the most part in most locations, often through rigorous editing by ya'll. I didn't see this written up elsewhere, and figured it belonged on that canonical page. These are rules for _all_ pages. FDP has additional rules, under DocsProject/WritingUsingTheWiki. Wiki Migration

Hi everyone, As you know, after the release of FC6, we had problems with the amount of connections to our servers. This made the wiki unavailable as well as other related problems. With this concern, the Fedora Infrastructure Team, have been working in a way to prevent this from happening again. Our first step, is the wiki migration. We are now ready to test the future wiki platform, and this is why i'm sending this email. programming help for Moin & DocBook XML

We need some help for the following: 1. Some short-term Python fixes, documentation clean-up, etc. to get the Google Summer of Code project we did through Moin Moin merged into the 1.6 trunk. 2. Ongoing maintenance of this Wiki to DocBook conversion code. This is a great chance to get involved in some upstream work for our Wiki-of-choice; to help out the Documentation Project tremendously; and to help out the overall Fedora Project when we all benefit from upgrading to the 1.5+/1.6 Moin Moin. Tweaking the design of the wiki

(CCing art-list) Hi all. I've made some CSS/foo for the wiki. Here are some screenshots: http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/DimitrisGlezos/WikiDesignTuning There have been some comments for improving the design of the wiki in the past [1] but unfortunately they went uncommitted. It is sad to see contributions and ideas not receiving the attention they require. The design of the wiki is a *major* marketing issue and the artwork team should have the opportunity to tune and increase the wiki's usability. It would be great if *tomorrow* we could make the website more usable and accessible, wouldn't it? :) It is a good idea (tm) to always document somewhere the names of the people in charge of stuff; it seems many pieces of the websites items don't have real maintainers but just good hackers that just don't have enough time to do everything. On the other hand, if no-one is in charge, we should put *Maintainer/moderator needed* at the place where the name should appear, so that someone steps up, who could be just the person in charge of poking in turn the right people. So, it would be a great idea IMO to have a `Websites/Contact points` wiki page. Awaiting comments. Fedora Website

Dear Fedora webmasters, I have noticed that the fedora community website is not to "user friendly" to non-developer users, especially for window users (which i am). I found it very hard trying to understand what benefits fedora has for me over Ms windows rather than it being free. So I have take the time to redesign the http://fedora.redhat.com/ website. I have taken into account non-linux users and provided dedicated pages for them explaining everything they need to know in one spot. I have also done my best to make the site look more professional and have taken an approach that better "sells" fedora to potential users. I am attaching a screenshot of my design...please let me know what you think. If you like the design I will be more than happy to develop it further and/or modify it in any way necessary.
