Centralized Calendar Facility for Fedora Project

Websites Team: I'm not sure if this is the right place for this discussion, so please bear with me. As I get more involved in various aspects of the Fedora Project, I find it harder to track when different meetings are being held. I imagine there are other project members in the same predicament. One solution is to use an online tool like Google Calendar. We have used this in the past for the Fedora Docs Project. See http://www.google.com/calendar. Another temporary solution is a centralized wiki page with links to each and every Fedora project and SIG meeting page. This will eventually have a matrix of the regularly scheduled meeting times assuming that these meetings will take place in the #fedora-meeting IRC channel on FreeNode. See http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/JohnBabich/Meetings for my first attempt. The bottom line is this: 1. We need a central repository of all official, regularly scheduled meetings. 2. A central online tool like Google Calendar is ideal for this task. (I certainly am open to other alternatives, even one that we host ourselves.) 3. An interim solution is a common wiki page which gets updated as needed. Please provide me with constructive feedback as to whether this is a real need for the project and what solution is the best one to implement. Website Team Meetings

(Cross-posted to the websites and marketing lists) Hi! I notice that we used to have Websites team meetings a long time ago, but they were suspended. At this point, we should be in a good position to start further expanding and defining our website, as we've seen in discussion on the websites and marketing lists. However, we still have a lot of design, content, and technical issues that need to be addressed before we can really move forward. With that said, this looks like a good time to setup a meeting time for everybody to discuss and participate in making these decisions. What would be a good time for everybody to meet on IRC? I should probably be good for most of Wednesday and Friday evenings or any time over the weekend). Right now, here are some items that we want to talk about: * Website purposes/targets * Expanding beyond our current content/design * Improving our handling of translations * Getting more people involved :) * <- Insert topic here What do you think? Just a suggestion

Hi I'm a new user to Linux and I've never been able to use Fedora but I'd really like to. Every time I attempt to download, it takes a half day at least to finish. When it does, theres some error on the iso every single time or the download somehow messes up on the way. I don't feel the need to order a DVD so instead I thought I would suggest making a mirror where there are maybe about 30 total .rar files. This way people with slower internet can actually download the OS and people like me won't have to worry about a few MB causing the whole DVD to malfunction. I personally wouldn't bother to do this with 8, once 9 is released, then I would like to see segments. The post method in the Wiki at user level seems not to work properly at this time. I could edit and update an Ambassadors page, but not my Wiki personnal one. Edit OK, but Post denied / 501.
