fedoraproject.org website design usage
by Justin Sinclair
Hello,
We are a small company developing an open source (GPL'd) inventory
tracking system called Tracmor (http://code.google.com/p/tracmor). We
are just now preparing to build a public website for our project (both
commercial and community targeted) and we like the simple clean layout
of the fedoraproject.org website. We would like to request permission
to use the html/css layout from fedoraproject.com home page as a
starting point for our site. We would not reuse any of the images or
content or even color schemes from the fedora website, but only the
page layout. If this is something you would be willing to permit,
please let me know. Thank you in advance for your consideration.
Justin Sinclair

p.s. I've been a Fedora user since the project began. Thanks for a
great distro!

mod_security

We've got a mod_security deployment going on, from the start we're only
going to be targeting specific paths. Please keep your eyes out for
anything strange. First up, is the wiki.

adblock and our promo ads
by Max Spevack
resending since it didn't get through the first time... if the original
message is stuck in moderation, feel free to discard it.

Hi there websites list:
The Adblock Plus extension for Firefox, with the "EasyList (USA)"
subscription is blocking the promos that we run on fedoraproject.org and
start.fedoraproject.org
The following filter is the one that is being triggered, on both
start.fp.o and fp.o
/banners/*.gif$~background
Perhaps we should consider tweaking the path of those promos so that
Adblock doesn't hit them.
They aren't ads, after all. They are legitimate links to Fedora-related
news and downloads.

The number #1 thing on my free time plate right now is the F9 artwork
but I can make this #2 if I can get some help. Let's do it!
Who wants to help Mo? Who

Thank you very much. It is very kind of you.
AFNI(analysis of functional neuroimaging ), one of softwares analyzing data of functional magnetic resonance imaging) , used to meet some problems in higher version of Fedora. Before, I have used AFNI in Fedora 5, so I want to get it.
Thanks again. Best Regards! Especially now the Chinese new year is coming!
Yours sincerely,
Qingwei Li

Hello,
You should be able to download FC5 iso images from "core" directory in
most mirrors[1]. However, Fedora Project no longer release any updates
for FC5 since it has reached its EOL (End of Lifecycle)[2].

Fedora Banners Archive
by Máirín Duffy
I decided to put together a little spot in the wiki where we can collect
all of the banners (and their sources) that we have made for
www.fedoraproject.org in case they end up being useful for something
else or maybe if their sources could be reused.
The page is here:
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Artwork/PromoBanners
I know I am missing some, the fudcon one comes to mind (I think I do
have the source for that somewhere)... if you can think of any I have
missed please feel free to add them here. :)
Thanks,
~m
