After some discussion we decided to build a dedicated website for ARM,
which is primary and doesn't fit neither in labs nor spins. We discussed
this a bit with ARM folks, but any additional information is really
helpful here.
The arm.fpo website will be more like a one pager, probably with the main
features and usecases, and then a download page with all the available
images. It shouldn't take too much time to code it but:
* we have no zanata source
* we need text content
* there's no subdomain and we should build it ASAP

Labs.fpo will be a new website and we'll use it for functional spins, such
as security, design, games,...we have already an index page and some
roughly coded details pages.
F22 branch has been already created and all the work merged into it, so we
are ready to continue working on that branch. Some steps I have in mind:
* finish design details page, download and splash
* take design as example for other labs (there will be 6 labs for F22)
* create the source on zanata
* make the subdomain and build it in staging
* start translations
One of the main problems will be to get all the informations in time from
the SIGs.

#315: New website for Spins-ARM-Docker

After getfedora.org and focusing mostly on the three editions of
fedora.next it's time to make another step forward and give Spins, ARM and
Docker a nice place where to live. Actually all images, prerelease and
other informations are on https://spins.fedoraproject.org but it's really
confusing because this website was not build to host more and different
images than spins.
I've just created the spins-redesign branch and my thought is to write a
bootstrap and mobile friendly website where all images should have their
own space. Further, this website needs to be different from getfedora.org,
but this doesn't mean it should be aweful ;)
We still need to decide the subdomain for this page, as spins.fpo doesn't
fit the content anymore. This can be changed also later, in the meanwhile
I'll call it labs.fedoraproject.org.
Other thoughts:
* Header and footer could be almost the same as on getfedora.org
* ULS will be the same as getfedora.org
* One landing page where people can have an overview of what this website
provides
* Spins will lead to a page, similar to what we have now on spins.fpo,
where we could separate Desktop Spins from other Spins
* Ever single Spin should have it's own Download/feature/screenshots page,
a sort of dedicated spins page where people can get all they are looking
for
* ARM can go directly to the download page, as there is not much to say
(unless ARM folks want to have this in a different way)
* Docker will have just one download page
We need to work together with all Spins SIGs and need new screenshots and
features for every single spin. We can probably reuse the images we have
already on spins.fpo, but for other icons or banners we need new design.
Same for ARM, we need their opinion and must understand what ARM folks
need on the pages, same as for Docker (Cloud).
It's a huge task and have this website running fine for F22 GA is a great
challenge, so I hope we can all work on it together to split the workload
and go on faster :)

by Jaroslav Reznik
Fedora 22 Final Release Readiness Meeting.
date: 2015-05-21 place: irc.freenode.net in #fedora-meeting-2
time: 19:00 UTC (3 PM EDT, 12 noon PDT, 21:00 CEST)
This Thursday, May 21, we will meet to make sure we are coordinated
and ready for the Final release of Fedora 22 on Tuesday, May 26, 2015.
Please note that this meeting will occur on May 21 even if the
release is delayed at the Go/No-Go meeting on the same day two hours
earlier.
You may received this message several times, but I was asked to open this
meeting to the teams and I'll also hope this will raise awareness and more
team representatives will come to this meeting. This meeting works best
when we have representatives from all of the teams. We also have a badge!

Yes, this is intentional because these are different websites.
It could be an idea to keep the language setting from F22 on, because the
new websites use the same ULS and are configured the same way.
Thanks for bringing this up.

#276: New release counter for fedora.next websites

We actually have two release counter scripts on the webpages.
* Internal release counter which is just a small script
* External release counter, works with JS
Both rely on a huge work of the design team, because we need for every
release about 30 banners in several languages and they really take a lot
of time to produce them.
We should think about a new release counter and should only need one image
(in several sizes?) from the design team; the rest could be done with a
script and shouldn't be too difficult for the counter on the fpo webpages.
The more difficult part will be the external counter, and although we
shouldn't break the links people placed on their blogs, local community
websites etc. I fear we need to do so. It would be a good moment to change
the link when the counter will be for the first time on the new
fedora.next webpages (F22 Beta), so let's aim that target.
If anyone is willing to work on this please get in contact with the
websites team first to figure out which could be the best solution and how
to perform it.
A small final note: [https://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Countdown OpenSuse]
is already using a similar solution, maybe it is useful to start working
on it.
