Hi,
For an unknown reason, it is very hard to locate cloud images for the
"regular Fedora", whereas it is very easy to locate "Atomic" images. But I
don't want the container thing with "dnf: command not found". I would like
a regular Fedora where I can install anything, trash my OS if I want to,
etc. I would like to build a VM to develop on Python and run benchmarks,
so I really want to avoid the indirection of a docket container.
* To locate Fedora Cloud Image, I tried "fedora cloud image" in Google.
* First result: "Cloud images - Fedora" with an URL containing
"fedora.org", nice: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Cloud_images
* Ah, it's a wiki page which only contains a redirection to
http://cloud.fedoraproject.org/
* http://cloud.fedoraproject.org/ is automatically redirected to
https://getfedora.org/atomic/
* https://getfedora.org/atomic/ is a dead end, there is no link to cloud
images for the regular Fedora
A colleague (I'm working for Red Hat, hello!) gave me the URL
ftp://ftp.free.fr/mirrors/fedora.redhat.com/fedora/linux/releases/25/Clou....
Sadly, OpenStack failed to fetch the QCOW image using the FTP protocol. It
worked using HTTP:
http://ftp.free.fr/mirrors/fedora.redhat.com/fedora/linux/releases/25/Clo...
/Fedora-Cloud-Base-25-1.3.x86_64.qcow2
But this image doesn't work :-( It fails somewhere in cloud-image. I
should report this bug too.
On #fedora, I was told to try a cloud image of Fedora 24, I got the link:
http://ftp.free.fr/mirrors/fedora.redhat.com/fedora/linux/releases/24/Clo...
Then another colleague, gave me a different link for Fedora 25:
https://kojipkgs.fedoraproject.org/compose/twoweek/Fedora-
Atomic-25-20161216.0/compose/CloudImages/x86_64/images/Fedora-Cloud-
Base-25-20161216.0.x86_64.qcow2
This is a mess: why should I ask people for URLs on IRC? :-(
Why now showing these images on the official Fedora website?
Cloud is a thing nowadays, why not supporting cloud images more
officially?
The second colleague also pointed me to https://fedorahosted.org/fedora-
websites/ticket/406#comment:1 which says that Atomic becomes the
"default". IMO it's a bad idea to hide other cloud images, the user should
have the choice of how Fedora is installed!
Thank you for your nice website and your amazing operating system! Fedora
works very well on my desktop and laptop PCs!

bug: libravatar doesn't work and is dated and probably failing
by T0dd
I go to website, https://fedorahosted.org/copr/prefs (see photo)
Notice the incorrect libravatar image icon...
I go to libravatar, https://www.libravatar.org/account/ (see photo)
Notice the correct icon that is not linked appropriately.
Plus...
Libravatar silently fails all the time when you upload imagesthey don't support (I was trying to upload 640x640 images (well within their size recommendation) and they just would not render. I had to scale them down.
Also, Libravatar suggests linking to persona.org... which is a dead project. It seems like libravatar is an unmaintained project. But then again, I find so many errors with the fedora websites... hmm.

by Amar Singh
I want to move away from windows, and have installed fedora

But so many things don't work automatically. Like to get my netflix
account working, I had to install pipelight.
why not include it in the product installation?
Regards.

user accounts
by Michael Mullen
I keep getting an error when creating a user account. capta is being
used!
I have no idea what this means and I have tried many workarounds which
were uneventful. Is there something wrong with the script?
also, you may not be the person to ask this question; however, I seems
like you have to be able to login to ask a question.
Please help

Front page description
by Misha S.
Hello,
I arrived from Red Hat product evaluation requests page [1] to
getfedora.org (you are directed to Fedora page [2] if you are an
individual developer or entrepreneur), and under "Workstation" there's
a description as follows:
> Fedora Workstation is a reliable, user-friendly, and powerful operating system for your laptop or desktop computer.
Which is inaccurate. Fedora does not come near RHEL when it comes to
reliability. Hear me out: you can use RHEL for a decade and it will be
supported, so you can forget about system upgrades and do your job.
Fedora is EOL in several months and requires skill and hassle to keep
up with the release schedule and receive patches and updates. It
provides limited hardware support to the technologies bundled.
I suggest that the word "reliable" is replaced with "innovative",
"ever-evolving" or "rapidly developed", because it is misleading
otherwise.
