Previously, the design of the first slide has matched with the theme of the release. Keeping it this way would be good.

One of the previous replies the suggestion was Grub2, GPT disk label, etc. Those are all good ones but aren't 'exciting', especially for non-techies. However, what is to say that we can't highlight a couple of special things? In looking at the Features list [1], i see a theme of 'cloud' and 'cloud services/integration'. What if we group those features together into 1 slide?

This is the list of Spins [2] for this release.I'm indifferent on which one is chosen. My only contention is choosing a spin that hasn't been highlighted before. Again, we could highlight the two newest one in a single slide (eg Scientific and Robotics).

The links with group pictures were excellent. I don't have the link in front of me but the one i liked was the group pic in which the group look like a triangle. I think it was the second link from the list.

Mizmo, how much time should we give to the design team?
We should define a deadline in order to choose the slideshow content.
