#85: Updated "Upcomming Events" content ---------------------+------------------------ Reporter: sijis | Owner: webmaster Type: defect | Status: new Priority: minor | Milestone: Component: General | Version: Keywords: easyfix | Blocked By: Blocking: | ---------------------+------------------------ The content in "Upcomming Events" section on the join-page [1] is referring to content from 2010.
The content should be updated or generalized enough as not to put dates in the area but still make sense and be accurate.
Any other ideas/suggestions would definitely be welcomed.

I think a good solution would be updating the upcomming events every 6 months (December and June = final $releasever + 1 month).[[BR]] It will be necessary to update also the wiki page [1] for more details. I see for example that NA and EMEA list the events only until November 2012 while the last events listed for the APAC Area are in the month of August 2012...

I just saw jonwgeorge's patch - while I can't actually approve/deny - it did make me look up this ticket, I do agree with robyduck that it would be a good idea to revisit every 6 months or so.
Maybe it is something jreznik could get onto the schedule? :D

I don't mind updating the events ever so often, I'm kind of a neat freak anyway.

Yes Robyn, a schedule would be nice, and perhaps it's the only solution to keep the regional events (EMEA, LATAM, NA, APAC) synchronized by data (two quarters ahead).
Let's see what jreznik thinks about it ;)

I'm closing this ticket because the content has been updated, see rev. 7aa6097 and thanks to croberts, who will also keep the content up to date till we'll find a nicer solution (which shouldn't be so far away).
Fedocal (iCal) will help us to implement this feature soon I think.
