augenauf reported a new issue against the project: `fedora-websites` that you are following: `` I noted that on https://alt.fedoraproject.org/en/ that the netinstall image is marketed as Server edition. I think this is misleading and playing down the huge potential of this image.
As far as I am aware, the netinstall image, by default, isn't a certain edition. It is rather a tool to install any edition the user may want.
Should we change that?

bcotton added a new comment to an issue you are following: `` I think you're correct. We used to list a few netinstall images on this page. It looks like we still product netinstalls for the "Everything" build too (which is actually the only thing we build for Everything). I'm not sure if there's a difference between those two deliverables. I'll do some digging and see if I can find the history.
@codeblock are you aware of why we're calling the Netinst "Server" and not something more generic? ``

The issue: `alt.fedoraproject.org: alternative download page: Netinstall is marketed as Server edition ` of project: `fedora-websites` has been assigned to `bcotton` by bcotton.
codeblock added a new comment to an issue you are following: `` Well, it's not that we're calling it that -- It's the server net install, it lives in /Server/ on the mirrors. There used to be a workstation one as well, but there isn't anymore, just Server. ``

bcotton added a new comment to an issue you are following: `` So! I turns out that the Server netinst only includes some "comps" groups, limited the set of software that can be installed in the initial setup. The Everything netinst is listed much further down the page.
It does, then, make sense to keep calling the Server netinst Server. The question is should we put the Everything netinst up there with it. ``

augenauf added a new comment to an issue you are following: `` I think the software groups are the same. The difference is the file system applied in automatic partitioning.
+1 for moving the two netinstall images together ``

kevin added a new comment to an issue you are following: `` The server and everything netinstalls/boot.isos also have different defaults (you can change them, but the defaults are the way they are set on bootup). I don't recall all the changes, but the server one defaults to xfs instead of ext4, and defaults to a / and free space when you use lvm instead of / and /home, etc.
So, they are different. You can of course use either with kickstarts or use either and change the default settings over to what you want.
There is no workstation one, they asked for that not to be produced. ``
