Proposed new website frontpage

I've done a little bit of a proposed new website frontpage, which makes
the whole thing look tidier. It can be found here:

This looks a better page that the current one. I am not sure whether we 
need a major revamp though. There was a lot of previous discussions on 
doing some changes such as hiding the sidebar for non logged in users 
and moving several project links to the sidebar. Anyone following up on 
those changes?

Not much of an opinion just yet. However, the title "Welcome to the Fedora
Project" does strange things when the browser is sized a small enough that
it doesn't fit on one line (this is in Firefox at least).

Personally, I would prefer to see left justified than right justified.

The only problem there is that it looks far too much like "normal"
paragraph text, rather than a short introductory text.

Plus, in evens it all out, it would just look odd if it was all
left-aligned, imo.

Hi all,
probably it's a marketing concern, but i think we must find the way to 
be more " intuitive" for newcoemers to the site. Even for Linuxers
Wiki is a common thing, for other newcommers some times could be a 
little bit " complicated" drive a wiki. My proposal walks around to
create a CMS for the frontend of the project, with faqs,five language 
options, direct links to docs, howtos, faqs,etc. Probably Joomla could
be an interesting option for a "institutional frontend", the wiki can 
run behind it. If somebody doesnt know joomla take a look at www.joomla.org
or www.opensourcematters.org, for more information.

I can colaborate on the uploading and configuration for the CMS, if 
someone can help with templates and CSS we will find to be more nice for 
the outside.

I never use Plone, but I know that this technology respect the static, 
and dinamic content management criteria. I am interested on help. Tell

What display resolution this is created for?

scrollbar is rather annoying here. Personally I prefer frontpages
without scrollbar if it is not a news site.

BTW, are you sure that the best frontpage is a wiki one?

I think that the frontpage has to be a stylish but very small, useful
and informative one.
I mean this prototype seems better, but far from simple and ... :-)

If we can't get rid of the sidebar this frontpage menu stuff could go
there and the header menu can be forgotten. I prefer top header +
custom sidebars for each item + wiki editing tools after login.
