Juste a general warning abour wrong stats in Transifex for Fedora Websites » master-fedoraproject
At the moment, it displays 685 entries in the pot file. HOWEVER, there are 697 entries... don't think the work is done yet :)
I have manually refreshed Transifex cache and it seems like there are 685 strings in current POT file.
The POT file needs update, but that's another issue. Websites team, could you please refresh POT/PO files after every change in original strings? If you don't do that regularly, English text appears on the webpage which we cannot translate.
Thanks,

We are not going to refresh the POT for the Fedora 14 -> Fedora 13 change, because it will only create more work for translators (they will have to translate it again after GA if we do that). as discussed in #fedora-websites IRC channel, we are going to update the POT again after the release of Fedora 14.

I don't necessarily agree with that decision (there will be English text on the site for a week), but I can live with it.
Also these problems could be avoided if we would use markup like this (found in the actual code):
${Markup(_('Fedora %s Desktop Edition') % '13')}

I have thought of that ;) We just wanted the translators to finish their current translations, while updating most important strings only, before marking all others as translatable.
+1 for updating before the Release date. (I will be happy to do so, but we need to agree :) )

If we do update before the release, i think we should use ${Markup(_('Fedora %s Desktop Edition') % '13')} as Pitor suggested, it will save extra work for translators. we just need to get an approval from the translators, they probably really annoyed because of the many POT updates we did.

I like the idea of updating before the Release.

I just can talk by myself, but as translator, i'm most annoyed by don't getting the last and more prominent news not being translated to my language, than getting just a bit more work to do.

You don't need approval for this kind of string change, since it's already in English on the webpage and updating POT file can't make it any worse. :) Actually, we have this in our guidelines:
