Problems using XEN on FC6
by Jamie Burns
Hello,
I am having problems using XEN on FC6.
I have installed a fresh FC6 machine from the DVD, only running "yum
update -y" after the install.
I have attempted to start a DomU install but it just won't work.

Howto install automatic rhel3/rhel4/fc5/fc6/rh72 xen guest with kickstart ?
by Thomas von Steiger
Hello,
I try to install xen guest's like rhel4 fc5 fc6 on fc5-dom0 with:
---
xenguest-install.py -n fc6_2 -r 256 -l http://192.186.1.5/linux/fc6cd -x
http://192.168.1.5/linux/ks/fc62.cfg -vcpus 2 --hvm -f /dev/xenvg/xenFC6_2
Starting guest...
['/usr/sbin/xm', 'create', '-c', 'cdrom=pus', 'boot=d', '/etc/xen/fc6_2']
Using config file "/etc/xen/fc6_2".
Started domain fc6_2
---
On vnc console I can sea this:
Boot from CD-ROM failed
Boot from Hard Disk 0 failed
Boot from Floppy 0 failed
How I can tell xenguest-install.py to boot for a fc6 kickstart ?
Or is there a way to boot new xen guests with pxeboot ?
Many thanks for tips.

I create one, the install goes fine, as it is installing I see it with (xm

I hit reboot in the installer after it is finished, then it just
dissappears.

(xm list show the dom-0), and I am trying to install with
xenguest-install.py, but it gives the error below. Any ideas? I cannot find
anything usefull anywhere. I am searching and trying for days now.

RE: [Fedora-xen] vnc trick?
by Robert Thiem
This has been driving me nuts since last night.
It turns out that on my FC6 machine "localhost" doesn't resolve properly.
Everything was listening on port 5900, but it looks like vncviewer etc
just couldn't work out to connect to 127.0.0.1. Using "vncviewer
127.0.0.1" worked fine.
In resolve.conf I had:
::1 lair6.remcc.org lair6 localhost.localdomain localhost
I changed this to
127.0.0.1 lair6.remcc.org lair6 localhost.localdomain localhost
Hopefully this is the same problem you're having.
Good luck,
Robert

RE: [Fedora-xen] How can I boot using CD-ROM/ ISO?
by Zhao, Fan
Tiago,
I think you need to append your iso file in the disk line of your config file, such as:
disk = [ 'phy:/dev/xen/fedora6.raiz,sda,w', 'file:/fedora-iso/FC-5-x86_64-disc1.iso:cdrom,r' ]
and the cdrom line is not needed. I'm not quite sure if this is what you want to ask, but you can have a try:-).
Best regards,
Fan

Fedora Wiki process question
by Markus Armbruster
Say I suspect a technical error but lack the expertise to fix it with
confidence. What's the process to get it worked out?
Quote
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/FedoraXenQuickstartFC6
3. What would you like to use as the disk (path)? The local path
and file name of the file to serve as the disk image for the
guest (eg, /home/joe/xenbox1). This will be exported as a full
disk to your guest.
I have a hazy recollection that this will run afoul of SELinux,
because it's not in a xen directory, but I'm not sure what locations
exactly will work.
