Ok, this is useful. The strace shows xm connecting to
connect(3, {sa_family=AF_FILE, path="/var/run/xend/xmlrpc.sock"}, 27) = -1
ENOENT (No such file or directory)
But the xend is only listening on port 8002, not unix sockets.
Can you post /etc/xen/xend-config.sxp
Also, do you have an /etc/xen/xend-config.sxp.rpmnew perhaps ? I think
the new config file may not have been deployed during the RPM upgrade
